In 2020, the Army medically retired me.

I didn't see it coming — not in the way you imagine these things. I knew my body was breaking down. I knew the injuries were stacking up in ways that couldn't be undone. What the Army Actually Taught Me

People assume that military service is about toughness. Discipline. Following orders. And yes, all of that is true. But the deeper lesson — the one that took me years to fully understand — is about systems.

The Army doesn't win battles through individual heroism. It wins through repeatable systems executed under pressure. Standard operating procedures. Battle rhythms.
